  1. The photo that demonstrates the most emotion is the Shadow photo. I tried using a mix of blue and red, because those are calm colors that represent peacefulness and passion. With the shadow casting against the back of the wall, it looks like the glassware could be facing some police sirens or some out of frame situation.
  2. The photo of the shadows make me wonder what is going on behind the camera. It could be police sirens or even some strange item or machine emitting a strange light.
  3. The colors of the shadow jump out to me. They are not normal shadow colors. Instead, they seem to be coming from some strange light. I also look at the front of the glass to see if there is the reflection of anything.
  4. The photo makes me feel calm because of the colors. The color blue and the color red are known to be calming. They demonstrate emotion the most out of any colors. That is why I chose them.
  5. For next years students, I would recommend they choose a good color for the shadow photo. This will greatly affect the photo. Another piece of advice is to choose a vibrant photo for the background of the apple. It helps to capture the background too.

  1. I like the color of the beads because they blend together really well giving a satisfying look. I also like how some of the beads are scattered. Another thing I really like is how there is one bead that almost looks ripped.

I think the lighting could be more even. It just creates a weird exposure of one side being brighter than the others. There is also some weird thing on the bottom left of the photo that could have been cropped out.

Next time he should try to find more even lighting. This would help balance the image and not have some beads be brighter than others. I think he should have attempted to crop the image so there wasn’t the blur in the bottom left.

  2. What I like most about this photo is how he used the water beads to make a cool pattern. To me it looks like he made a dog with the water beads. I especially like how he included the one broken water bead that looks like an eye.
One thing that could be better in the photo is the vibrance. His water beads look kind of washed out and dull. Either they are not backlit properly or he messed up editing.
One piece of advice for the photographer to help make their work better next time is to do a better job retouching. Photoshop has plenty of tools available for increasing vibrance. Especially for a photo in which there are bright primarily colored subjects.

What do you like most about the photo? Explain writing 3 sentences in the block to the right.
Although this may be unintentional, I like how the broken waterbead contrasts to the others. It almost makes a subject within a subject. Additionally, I like how the light fades more from the middle to the outer edges. It aligns with the middle of the photo, which in turn helps define the center.
What is one thing that could be better in the photo? Explain writing 3 sentences in the block to the right.
One thing that could be better in this photo is that the border of the light can be seen. To fully focus on the main subject of the photo, the beads, getting closer to them would do the job. Keeping some far from the others takes away from the focus as well.
What one piece of advice for the photographer to help them make their work better next time? Explain writing 3 sentences in the block to the right.
Keeping all the beads in close proximity to each other helps the viewer focus in on the subject. Additionally, getting closer to the beads helps with this as well. Zooming in would also take away any distractions from the subject, such as the border of the light.
